Many Austin Youth Basketball Player ask how they can focus their basketball training to produce more quickness and explosiveness in their game during the season. We do not recommend any high impact plyometric programs during the season as it inevitably leads to injuries.
We do recommend jumping rope. We recommend 5 minutes in the morning and 5 at night to start with. Do that for a week and then come back and visit what will be Part 2 of this post. You will be absolutely shocked at what as little as 3 workouts can produce. Dads please beware to join in slow on your kids jump rope workouts as our achilles get more brittle with age and once a day should ease you in a little more safely.
