Jumping higher isn’t about trying harder.

It’s about learning how to jump correctly.

Most youth and high school basketball players work hard — but very few are ever taught proper jump mechanics, safe power development, or how to train explosiveness without beating up their knees.

This Vertical Jump Performance Workshop is a hands-on, in-person session designed to teach players how vertical jump actually works — and how to train it the right way.

Every participant also receives full access to our Vertical Jump Training videos so they can continue training with structure after the workshop.

The problem we see all the time

  • Players training vertical jump randomly from YouTube or social media

  • Athletes jumping a lot but not jumping better

  • Knee soreness, ankle pain, and overuse injuries

  • Parents unsure if training is helping or hurting

  • Players working hard but not seeing progress

The issue usually isn’t effort.

It’s a lack of instruction and structure.

Vertical jump isn’t one thing

It’s a combination of:

  • Mechanics

  • Coordination

  • Timing

  • Strength expression

  • Recovery

When players don’t understand how these pieces fit together, they end up guessing — and guessing leads to frustration or injury.

This workshop removes the guesswork.

What changes after this workshop

After the session, players will:

  • Understand proper jump mechanics

  • Learn how to use hips and arms effectively

  • Improve coordination and power output

  • Know how often to train (and when to rest)

  • Reduce unnecessary knee and ankle stress

  • Have a clear plan they can follow at home

Parents will know their player now understands:

  • What good jump training actually looks like

  • What red flags to avoid

  • How to support development safely

What happens at the workshop

This is not a lecture.
It’s a coached, interactive jumping session.

We’ll cover:

  • Jump mechanics and arm-hip coordination

  • Proper landing and force absorption

  • Multi-joint jumping patterns used in basketball

  • Safe training volume for youth and high school players

  • How to organize vertical jump training during the week

  • We will jump… and go thru all the exercises.

Players are coached and corrected in real time — and taught why things matter, not just what to do.

Included: Vertical Jump Training videos

Every participant receives full access to our Vertical Jump Training video program, including:

  • Demonstrations of all exercises taught in the workshop

  • Weekly training structure and progression

  • Safety guidelines for youth athletes

  • Clear explanations players and parents can understand

This allows players to continue training correctly after the in-person session — instead of guessing.

Who this workshop is for

  • Middle school and high school basketball players

  • Players who want to jump higher safely

  • Families who value long-term athletic development

  • Athletes willing to focus on technique and consistency

Who this is not for

  • Players looking for shortcuts or guarantees

  • Families chasing viral workouts

  • Athletes unwilling to learn fundamentals

  • Athletes currently in knee, back or foot pain.

This workshop is about doing things the right way, not quick fixes.

About the Coach

Chris Corbett
BasketballTrainer.com
Coach | Trainer | Father of a D3 player

Chris has spent decades helping basketball players develop athleticism through sound mechanics, safe progressions, and long-term thinking. His approach emphasizes education, structure, and health — not hype.  Chris learned to jump on the playground of NYC where kids practiced jumping every day on the courts.   Chris later went on to play at University of Maine at Fort Kent and while a decent jumper, was not much of a dunker due to poor technique.   After his first ACL tear in Hermosa Beach, CA… Chris learned post surgery recovery, strengthening,  and then trained with AVP Beach volleyball players in the sand to really learn the value of quick jumping and plyometrics at the highest level.   He has studied plyometrics and also implemented them in his training business Austin Youth Basketball.
